School Supply Drive

A great way to get parents more engaged with their children is to help them feel the feelings of what it feels like to be engaged. A great way to generate the feeling is through playing games together as a family. Creating a family game library in the school allows children to borrow games from the school and take them home to play them with their parents.

Do Parents feel welcome in their schools?

An important factor in parents getting involved in schools is whether or not they feel welcome in the school. As a school administrator, are you making parents feel welcome? Who is your front office staff and how are they treating the parents who come into your school? Please carefully consider these questions and make sure you are creating a welcoming atmosphere. Here are a few ideas on how school administrators can use community activities as a tool to include parents.

Card Games

Playing card games together is another great way to spend quality time together!

Thanks to The Red Rock and Suncoast Casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada, Power2Parent was able to pass out 780 decks of cards to the students at Givens Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada. We passed out literature for the students to take home on the importance of playing together as a family and sent home a list of card games they could play together as a family.

Curious about what card games you can play as a family?
Check them out here!

Family Game Night

A great way to get parents in the door of your school is to have a family game night. It's a non-threatening way to bring parents into the school for a night of fun with their family.

Power2Parent Partnered with the Mrs. Nevada-America Program, Gamewright and Givens Elementary School to put together a great test pilot of a Family Game Night in a school. See how it turned out by clicking here.
